The Farewell Dinner

Jan 18, 2025

With only five days left until I go in, last night’s farewell dinner at Tre Bella Italian Restaurant was exactly what I needed. It’s one of my favorite spots, and being surrounded by my closest friends reminded me how much love and support I have in my life, even as I head into this next chapter. They were all so excited for me to get out and talked about the plans we’d make once I’m free. Some even said they’d make the three-hour trek to come visit me, which meant more than I can put into words.

We shared laughs, stories, and so many encouraging ideas about things to look forward to when I’m out. They even promised to send me pictures of what they’re up to on the outside, keeping me in the loop and reminding me of the life waiting for me when this is all behind me. It’s comforting to know I’ll have these friends cheering me on from the other side of the fence, rooting for me every step of the way.

Today, I’m keeping busy by working on my website. It’s almost finished, but it needs some mobile optimization, so I’ll spend the day tweaking things until it’s just right. Tonight, I’ll cap it off with some leftover chicken parmesan pizza from Tre Bella, savoring one of the last good meals I’ll have for a while. For now, I’m just holding onto the love and encouragement I felt last night and letting that carry me through these final days.

I was glad to share dinner with you and everyone. Be prepared for lots of broken car updates from me! I’ll keep checking here for updates too.

Sorry I did not make the dinner but I think of you often and keep you in my prayers. From what I know of you through your mother you will take this time and make the best of a sh-tty time in your life. I look forward to seeing you sooner than later. And I will ensure your mother is watched over! We do that for each other.
