BR: The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly

Jul 31, 2025

I just finished reading The Lincoln Lawyer, and I’ve got to say—I loved it. I haven’t seen the TV series yet, but after reading this, I’m definitely putting it at the top of my watchlist for when I get home.

The story revolves around Mickey Haller, a criminal defense lawyer who does business from the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car. Mickey reminded me a lot of Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad, always using his cunning and street smarts to stay one step ahead. He’s constantly leveraging his clients and connections to get what he needs, making him both clever and entertaining to follow.

What really pulled me in was the murder mystery at the core of the plot. The story was packed with twists and surprises, especially toward the end—I honestly didn’t see it coming. The pacing was perfect, keeping me hooked chapter after chapter.

Overall, The Lincoln Lawyer was excellent. I’m definitely planning to read the rest of the series, and I highly recommend it if you like smart characters, legal drama, and unexpected twists.

Easy five out of five stars from me.
